Workshop "Wool Dyeing" at Atelier Marie-Lucienne's
Have you ever stood in front of a shelf full of hand-dyed skeins of wool and thought, "I'd like to try that!"
Well, now's your chance!
Cross my heart, it took me ages to attempt my first dyeing experiments. I was curious and fascinated, but at the same time I couldn't imagine that dyeing wool would be "easy", let alone "doable".
I pored over books and watched countless YouTube videos, and in the end I only delayed the first attempt because I was unsure and maybe even a little scared (in the end all that research rather reinforced my concerns).
At the time, I would have benefited from someone taking me by the hand and showing me how to do it. Someone who would have demystified the whole process and given me that gentle nudge towards the dye pots.
Well, I want to take you by the hand and give you that gentle nudge!
In other word: Atelier Marie-Lucienne opens it's doors for a Workshop „Wool dyeing" at following dates:
- Saturday, 25th of June 2022
- Saturday, 9th of July 2022
- Saturday, 23rd of July 2022
- Saturday, 6th of August 2022
In the workshop "Dip your Tor into the Dye Pot!" you will learn the basics of dyeing wool and yarn with acid dyes . In addition to some theory, the focus is on doing it yourself . You will get to know the complete dyeing process with acid dyes, including the preparation of the dyed goods and various dyeing techniques, and the post-processing of the dyed wool.
The workshop will last a whole day . Don't worry: A delicious lunch, drinks, coffee, tea and cake are included. Since we want to do a lot, we start at 9 a.m. But, it's worth it: at the end of the day you go home with 450g of yarn you have dyed yourself!
